Nevada Humanities, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, seeks a full-time Assistant Director who has an understanding of the transformative power of humanities experiences to enrich our lives with knowledge, meaning, and understanding, and a demonstrated interest in working with diverse audiences and community partners. The Assistant Director of Nevada Humanities is based in Nevada Humanities’ Reno office on the University of Nevada, Reno campus, reports to the Executive Director, and is part of the senior management team that drives the overall strategy for Nevada Humanities. The Assistant Director assists the Executive Director in the oversight of organizational operations and in the supervision, administration, and direction of Nevada Humanities programming, communications, and special initiatives. The Assistant Director also supervises program assistants and a full-time Office Assistant in the Reno office, oversees a number of Nevada Humanities programs, works with a variety of Nevada Humanities partners, represents the organization at the national, regional, and local level, and assists with organizational advocacy, planning, and capacity building. The Assistant Director develops a deep knowledge of Nevada Humanities’ projects and focuses on the following four areas: administration, program leadership and management, external relationships, and knowledge management. Nevada Humanities collaborates with the University of Nevada, Reno to provide human resource services and benefits for its employees; this position serves as Administrative Faculty for the University of Nevada, Reno.
