Experience
I have been practicing and teaching oral history for more than two decades. I have conducted hundreds of interviews and taught hundreds of college students the craft of oral history. I have designed, managed, and executed oral history projects for state and local historical societies, neighborhood organizations, and community groups. I have published books and articles, facilitated and delivered public programming, and contributed to museum exhibits based on my oral history work.

Specialty
My primary oral history, research, and writing expertise is in U.S. women's history. I have interviewed women of diverse backgrounds and identities about their experiences as military nurses in the U.S.-Vietnam War; "unwed mothers" in mid-20th century maternity homes; voting rights, antiwar, and community activists; and athletes, coaches, and officials in the pre- and post-Title IX era. As an independent practitioner focused on community oral history, I am committed to making my practice just and equitable from project design to completion. My goal is to use my training and skills to help amplify the stories of individuals and communities whose contributions to our collective past have been under-recognized.
