Congress is beginning to deliberate funding National Endowment for the Humanities and the state humanities councils for FY2014. The Federation of State Humanities Councils has drafted the attached letter to the Interior Appropriations Committee in support of funding that would restore the funding level in place prior to this year’s mandatory sequester.
The Oral History Association Council has approved the following: The Oral History Association, the national professional association in the field, supports the request by the Federation of State Humanities Councils for FY2014 funding for the NEH and the state humanities councils, and encourages the executive director to publicize this support through dissemination of the attached letter.
Support for the funding is being channeled through the state humanities councils. If you wish to show your support, contact your state council and indicate that you want your name to be added to the Federation’s letter.
