Roger Eardley-Pryor, Ph.D., is an oral historian of science, technology, and the environment at the Oral History Center of The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley. Roger's research, public engagement, and oral history interviews often explore ways that twentieth and twenty-first-century environmentalists, scientists, and political actors have examined, controlled, or cohered with nature at various scales, from the atomic to the planetary. Roger completed his Ph.D. in History at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and earned his B.Phil. in Interdisciplinary Studies at Miami University in Ohio. At UCSB, Roger became a National Science Foundation graduate fellow in the Center for Nanotechnology in Society. After earning his Ph.D. in 2014, Roger taught history courses in the Pacific Northwest. From 2015-2018, Roger held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Center for Oral History at the Science History Institute in Philadelphia. Roger joined the Oral History Center at UC Berkeley in 2018. At Berkeley, he specializes in deeply researched, long-form, full-life oral history interviews that can range from four to over twenty hours in length.
