Scholarships

Deadline to apply for all scholarships: June 22, 2024

The Oral History Association provides funding each year for domestic and international presenters, and for non-presenters traveling to the annual meeting.

The Scholarship Committee determines recipients for OHA Annual Meeting Presenter and Non-Presenter Scholarships. The International Committee determines recipients for the OHA Annual Meeting International Scholarship.

The deadline to apply for all scholarships is June 22, 2024. Notifications will go out in late summer.

Presenter & Non-Presenter Scholarships

The Scholarship Committee consists of four people chaired by a member of council that does a blind reading of all applications and grades them individually based on a rubric. The committee then meets as a group to discuss any questions or discrepancies before making all final decisions. Applicants may be awarded partial amounts in an attempt to grant more scholarships but the total awarded in any given year for both presenters and non-presenters does not exceed $5,750.

The Oral History Association has a scholarship fund to support people who are presenting at the Annual Meeting. OHA encourages applications from a diverse group of people who might contribute to the association’s annual meeting. We welcome scholarship applications from students, professionals, and community practitioners.
