My work focuses on an understanding of the field of oral history - how it can be used to protect and preserve information about the past and the voices of those who might otherwise by voiceless. I have written about this extensively in my books and other publications. I support the work of the Oral History Association in its Principles and Best Practices as

I have an M.A. in history and did work toward a Ph.D. I have worked as an oral historian for 40+ years.
