I recently retired from my position as a history professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where I taught courses about American urban, environmental, late 19th and early 20th c., immigration and ethnicity, and historical research methods. I've written books about the New York subway and New York City upper class and I've just finished a mss. that's a macro history of imposture in the US.
