Nancy MacKay

Independent scholar
I came to oral history through my work as a librarian. I've participated in the evolution of oral history from a purely analog to a digital environment. I have a strong interest in the curation, preservation, and access of oral histories, including legacy interviews. To that end I am the author of Curating Oral Histories, 2nd. ed (2016). Currently, I am most interested in improving access to oral histories.I am also interested in community based oral history, that is, the documentation of hyer-local locations or interest groups. I believe that any big idea is best understood by a thousand individual stories.
