Hampton Roads Oral History Project highlights local resident’s experience during the Civil Rights Movement

Christopher Newport University’s History department recently created a project that documents the role the civil rights movement had on the area through a program called The Hampton Roads Oral History Project. The project began as part of the “The Long Civil Rights Movement” course offered in the fall of 2012 by history professor, Dr. Laura Puaca.

The interviews are now available on the project’s website that includes audio and a transcript of each interview.
