April 2011 tornado oral history exhibit opens at Tuscaloosa’s Transportation Museum

A multimedia exhibit featuring recordings of firsthand accounts of the April 27, 2011, tornado, its aftermath and the city’s recovery opened Tuesday morning at the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum.

“Listening to the Storm: A Natural Disaster in Retrospective,” an oral history project centered around the storm, captured the stories of city leaders, storm survivors, first responders and volunteers through a partnership between the museum, the Tuscaloosa Public Library and Alabama Public Radio.
